Introducing Dippy

On a spring day in Canton, Ohio, as God bathed the cherry orchards in golden sun light, something magical happened. From the highest branch of the oldest cherry tree, a tree whispered to be touched by joy itself, came a tiny shimmer and a giggle. Out popped Dippy, a cherry unlike any the world had seen. He had soft crimson cheeks, a swirl of sweetness in his smile, delicate wings that sparkled like sugar crystals, and a perfect little halo that glowed with pure delight. The skies themselves seemed to cheer.
Dippy didn’t toddle, he hovered. From his first flutter, he buzzed with purpose. He was born not just to be sweet, but to share sweetness with everyone he met. While most cherries dream of pies or sundaes, Dippy dreamed of something greater a place where laughter echoed, sprinkles rained like confetti, and every scoop of ice cream carried a little bit of heaven.
He wandered far and wide, tasting snowflakes on mountaintops, learning to swirl soft serve from seaside stands, and collecting joy like sprinkles on a sundae. Wherever he went, people smiled just a little wider.
Eventually, Dippy returned to where his story began, on May 15, 2008, to Canton, Ohio. With a skip in his flight and a spoonful of stardust, he helped open the first Almost Heaven Ice Cream shop. It wasn’t just a store; it was a celebration. Families came to cool off, friends reunited over cones, and Dippy? He was always there perched on the sign, soaring through the sprinkles, reminding everyone that a scoop of happiness was always just within reach.
And so, Dippy became more than a mascot. He became a symbol of joy, whimsy, and all the little things that make life a little sweeter.
You can find Dippy now, our beloved mascot, on every dish and every twinkle in the eye of everyone who comes in for a scoop.
