At Almost Heaven, we are so much more than an ice cream shop, we are a family-owned business where likeminded individuals can come to have a lasting career. From Scoopers, Supervisors, Assistant Managers, General Managers, Production Assistant, Production Manager, Marketing, Social Media, Financial Officer, Director of Operations and so much more as the future stands on the horizon. We want nothing more than to expand our amazing team and bring aboard incredible people who have a passion for ice cream, are creative, hardworking, compassionate, and so much more.
In the inner workings of Almost Heaven we have one unstoppable team, one that the public may not often see but provide a pivotal role to Almost Heaven.
One beloved member of our team is Production Assistant and our Head of Delivery, Jacob Danner. Others among the company would describe Jacob as hard working but laid back, easy to work with, fun loving, great attitude, above all else he is loyal, friendly and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. It definitely did not take anyone long to think of all the wonderful attributes Jacob possesses and what he brings to the company as a whole.

I sat down with Jacob for a one-on-one interview to let you know who is not only behind the scenes but in the continued opportunities we provide at Almost Heaven.
Is your current position the same as when you started? If not, what steps did you take to advance your career? It is not the same, I've been in almost every position that we offer here. I started as a scooper, then shift supervisor, assistant manager, started doing delivery and catering as well, and now I'm in production while still doing delivery. What helped me to continue growing was being available, reliable, and willing to adapt.
How long he has been a team member of Almost Heaven: As of the 31st of January, I have been here for four years.
What are your most significant career strengths and weaknesses? My strengths are I'm pretty easy going, can stick to instruction, and I work well by myself and with others. Some weaknesses would be that I'm stubborn and hard-headed, can be too quiet, and I can be prideful in not asking for help.
Could you describe any significant mistakes you made early in your career? I've forgotten to submit orders to production and had to hand scoop them, I think the most was 170 dishes that I hand scooped the day of the event, but everything got there on time laughs
What has been your most influential success factor? My most influential success factor would have to be God, ever since being saved, I've seen more success in every area of my life. He helps me in ways I can't even begin to describe.
What's the advancement potential in the field? There is decent advancement potential with us getting started on the factory soon and adding more wholesale accounts all the time. My days should be filling up with more deliveries and that will add some advancement potential.
If you could start again, how would you change your career path? I love the people here and the environment, I love that I can come to work and have fun almost every day. I also love driving so being able to do so for work is pretty fun.
What would you say to future employees? I would say take advice when you get it and keep your eyes and ears open to learn everyone's techniques for everything, then you can pick what works best for you. Be open if you have questions or concerns. Find ways to make the job fun and everything will always go smoothly!
What career setback did you face that you later realized was an advantage? I can't think of too many setbacks I've had, but sometimes I work better by myself than with other people, but that helps out for last minute call offs at the shop or doing catering or delivery by myself in a last case scenario.
