Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie DIY Dessert

Desserts are a comfort that brings the whole family together in times when we may feel so far apart. Lift your spirits with a scrumptious DIY recipe made complete by Almost Heaven’s homemade ice cream.

Forget your cookie trays and grab your skillets! Skillet cookies are an easy way to get your cookie fix while still feeding the whole family. Though we recommend Go Bucks!, you can top it off with over 23 Almost Heaven homemade ice cream flavors. Chocolate Pecan, Green Monster, and Salty Caramel are a few of our favorites!

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temp

  • 1 ¼ cups sugar

  • ½ cup packed brown sugar

  • 3 large eggs, at room temp

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks

  • Almost Heaven homemade Go Bucks! ice cream (for serving)

  • Almost Heaven Hot Fudge (optional)

  • Almost Heaven homemade Peanut Butter topping (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 12-inch cast-iron skillet with butter.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set the bowl aside.

  3. Cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar.

  4. Add eggs one at a time until mixed, then add the vanilla extract and beat until combined.

  5. Add the flour mixture and mix just until the dough comes together. Beat in the chocolate until combined.

  6. Scrape the dough into the skillet and smooth it out.

  7. Bake the cookie for 30 to 35 minutes until it’s barely cooked in the center.

  8. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes before serving with Almost Heaven Go Bucks! ice cream on top.

  9. Drizzle the Almost Heaven Hot Fudge and homemade Peanut Butter topping and top off with whipped cream, a cherry, and nuts (optional).
